A national stakeholder consultation held to review the NFP PoA & CIP Monitoring Report 2014, 27 May 2014

The draft National Food Policy Plan of Action (NFP PoA) and Country Investment Plan (CIP) Monitoring Report 2014 was reviewed during a national stakeholder consultation held on 27th May 2014, at CIRDAP. The event was organized by the National Food Planning and Monitoring Unit (FPMU) of the Ministry of Food in collaboration with the National Food Policy Capacity Strengthening Programme (NFPCSP) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Welcome remarks were delivered by Ms Musfeka, Secretary, Ministry of Food and Mr Mike Robson, FAO Representative. Mr Ciro Fiorillo, Chief Technical Advisor NFPCSP presented an overview of the Monitoring Report 2014 and Mr Naser Farid, DG FPMU the details of the consultation process. Around 100 participants from government, donors, research centers, international and civil society organizations attended the consultation participating in two plenary and three parallel sessions: A) Food Availability, B) Food Access, and C) Food Utilisation for nutrition. Participants shared views and discussed issues relating to the draft report and made recommendations for revisions to ensure views and perspectives of different stakeholders are incorporated.
The revised draft Monitoring Report 2014 will be submitted to the National Committee for approval.
The meeting was concluded during a final plenary session by Ms Musfeka, Secretary, Ministry of Food thanking all the participants for their active participation in the meeting.
