The Food Policy Working Group meets to review the first draft of the NFP PoA & CIP Monitoring Report 2014, 5 May 2014.
The first draft of the 2014 Monitoring Report of the National Food Policy Plan of Action (NFP PoA) and Country Investment Plan (CIP) was reviewed in a meeting of the National Food Policy Working Group (FPWG) held today, 5th May 2014, at the Food Planning and Monitoring Unit (FPMU) of the Ministry of Food. The meeting was chaired and opened by Ms Musfeka, Secretary, Ministry of Food and was held in collaboration with the National Food Policy Capacity Strengthening Programme (NFPCSP) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
The first draft of the Monitoring Report was presented by the Director General of FPMU and the NFPCSP Chief Technical Advisor. The participants to the meeting provided comments and recommendations for improvement with specific reference to correctness and quality of data and to ensure that the report is consistent with the views of all relevant government agencies.
The 2014 Monitoring Report will undergo two additional revisions before finalization. The first will be based on the FPWG comments and recommendations. A new draft will be discussed in a broader stakeholder consultation scheduled to take place during the 4th week of May. The second revision will be based on the result of the stakeholder consultation following which a new draft will be prepared and submitted for discussions to the National Committee for the CIP, chaired by the Minister Food and scheduled to meet at the beginning of June. Based on the recommendations of the National Committee the Monitoring Report 2014 will be finalized.
