Consultation on “Effectiveness of Bangladesh’s rice procurement system and possible alternatives: supporting farmer’s income and sustaining production incentives”, 19 March 2014.

The consultation validated findings and recommendations of the study on “Effectiveness of Bangladesh’s rice procurement system and possible alternatives: supporting farmer’s income and sustaining production incentives”. The event was jointly organized by the National Food Policy Capacity Strengthening Programme (NFPCSP) of FAO and the Food Planning and Monitoring Unit (FPMU) of the Ministry of Food, Government of Bangladesh. The study was carried out under the auspices of the Research Grant Scheme of NFPCSP. Key actors in the Ministry of Food and other government agencies and selected participants from the sector (millers, farmers, traders) participated.
