National Forum on "Improving the Bangladesh Country Investment Plan"
On March 20, the Food Division of the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management has organized a National Forum to review the updated draft of the Country Investment Plan (download). Mr. Abdul Maal Abdul Muhith, MP, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Finance was present as Chief Guest while the inaugural session has been chaired by Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, MP, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Food and Disaster Management.
The Forum, with around 300 participants, represented the culminating point of a consultation process that involved government agencies, academics, civil society, private sector, NGOs, UN agencies and development partners in reviewing the current Country Investment Plan. The CIP benefited from the strong involvement and leadership at the highest levels of the Government. FAO provided technical and methodological support and USAID provided financing.
After the forum a revised version of the Country Investment Plan is expected to bereleased within April 2011 (sign up to our mailing list to receive the latest news).
